Have Your Say on the £2.2m Horley Community Centre Revamp
Reigate & Banstead Borough Council is inviting Horley residents to share their thoughts on a proposed £2.2 million refurbishment of the Horley Community Centre. The 40-year-old facility on Albert Road is set for a significant upgrade, with hopes to reopen in summer or autumn 2027.
Most of the funding will come from developer contributions aimed at enhancing community facilities in response to new housing developments.
The council is keen to hear from the local community about what improvements they’d like to see. A public survey is open until 10 August, giving residents a chance to shape the future of this key community space.
Councillor James Baker, Executive Member for Community Partnerships, said:
“Modernising Horley Community Centre will not only tackle much-needed repairs but also help us reduce running costs by making the building more energy efficient. This supports our target of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2030.”
The proposed redesign aims to create a more welcoming environment, with plans for additional multipurpose, hireable spaces, and a new café offering an expanded menu. The council hopes these changes will attract more visitors and provide a wider range of activities for the community.
Residents can view and discuss the plans in person at the centre on:
22 July, from 2pm to 7pm
26 July, from 10am to 2pm
This is an excellent opportunity for Horley residents to influence the future of a valued local asset.
