Surrey Launches New Support Programme to Boost High Street Businesses
Surrey County’s high street businesses are being invited to express their interest in a new support initiative designed to help them adapt, innovate and prosper in a rapidly changing economic landscape.
The High Street Growth and Innovation Support Programme, set to roll out in early 2026, aims to provide tailored practical assistance to businesses operating from Surrey’s town centres. The programme is part of the wider Business Surrey support offer—a free business support service provided by Surrey County Council to help local firms start, grow and thrive.
According to Business Surrey, the programme will work with local high street companies to develop support that helps them adapt to evolving consumer trends, strengthen their digital presence, and contribute to vibrant local economies across the county.
While full details of the support on offer are still being finalised, the initiative builds on recent regional efforts to foster innovation and business resilience. That includes the Surrey Economic Growth Fund, which has already provided grants aimed at boosting innovation and job creation across the county.
Businesses interested in taking part in the High Street Growth and Innovation Support Programme are now being encouraged to submit an expression of interest via Business Surrey’s online form. Completing the form gives firms the opportunity to help shape the design and delivery of the support, ensuring it reflects their needs and ambitions.
The move comes at a time when many high streets are facing pressures from changing shopping habits and economic uncertainty. Local leaders hope that targeted support will help businesses not only navigate these challenges but also unlock new opportunities for growth and innovation.
For more information or to register an interest, businesses can visit the Business Surrey website and complete the dedicated expression-of-interest form.
